Former actor Diego Castro III is enjoying this career now
Diego Castro III, the actor who was known for his character Jigs Mercado in the 90s youth-oriented show Gimik is enjoying this career now.
During the 90s, Diego was one of the popular leading men. He also appeared in various drama series in the Kapamilya network such as Esperanza, Pangako Sa’Yo, and Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan.
He also did TV commercials before he finally had regular shows. Despite the popularity that he achieved in the entertainment industry, Diego ventured into other careers. In 2004, he graduated from Culinary Arts Management and became Executive Chefs for 2 major food brands.
Because of his love for cooking, he established a restaurant that he named ‘Lord of the Wings’. It might not be known to many, but Diego Castro has journalistic blood running in his veins. He is the son of veteran broadcast journalists, Ms. June Keithley and the late Angelo Castro Jr.
That probably pulled him into being a newscaster. He is now a news presenter at UNTV News and Rescue. Diego was also able to combine this stint with his love for cooking. In the Kasangbahay network’s morning show Good Morning Kuya, the former actor is not just a resident host but also a chef.
Diego Castro III now has a son with life partner Angela Lagunsad who is also a news anchor at UNTV. His social media posts always show how happy he is with his family and his current career. Indeed, he found a career that makes him happy outside the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry.
