CAYETANO – House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano clarified that the ABS-CBN network can still operate even after March 2020.

One of the topics that are currently on the surface is the renewal of the franchise of the ABS-CBN network. It is known that the franchise of the Kapamilya network will expire in March this year.

Previously, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte aired his disappointment against ABS-CBN. It was over the alleged move of the network not to air his advertisement campaign during the Election 2016.

The President stressed that if he can do anything, he will not allow the ABS-CBN to renew its franchise. He has also previously told the Lopez-owned network to just sell it.

The issues surrounding the franchise of the ABS-CBN network gathered different reactions from the public. There are those that believe that the Kapamilya network must not be allowed to renew its franchise while there are also those who expressed their support to the network.

Undeniably, a lot of people now are curious on what will happen next with regards to the franchise of the ABS-CBN network. Will the Kapamilya network still be there after March?

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano made a clarification with regards to the ABS-CBN franchise. According to him, the Kapamilya network can still operate after March 2020.

The House Speaker expressed that tackling the issues about the franchise of the Kapamilya network is important but it is not an urgent matter. He revealed that the network can operate even until March 2022.

“While we’re discussing the issues, there is no reason na isara. Mag-hearing tayo pag nag-init ng ulo, eh pag na-deny eh di sarado. Pag na-approve naman nandiyan ‘din yung proprotesta… Sometimes time is healing,” he said based on the report.

According to the House Speaker, there is no reason to hamper the operation of ABS-CBN. He stressed the statement of the President to ABS-CBN News to keep on reporting what they can see in the society.
