Travel Timeline of 2 New Suspected Coronavirus Patients in Negros Oriental
NEW SUSPECTED CORONAVIRUS PATIENTS – The authorities revealed the travel timeline of the two (2) suspected patients of COVID-19 in Negros Oriental.
Currently, the Philippines is still on a tight guard against the novel coronavirus or the COVID-19. There is a travel ban on passengers coming from China and other neighboring countries.
The novel coronavirus first emerged in Wuhan City, China. More than 60,000 people were infected by the virus and over 1,000 people died because of it – surpassing SARS death toll.
Three (3) cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed in the Philippines. All patients were Chinese national. Unfortunately, one of them died while being treated at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
The authorities traced and contacted the people the coronavirus patients had a contact with. They were put under monitoring and isolation to curb the possible spread of the disease.
Recently, the provincial government of Negros Oriental has confirmed that there are two (2) suspected patients of coronavirus in the province and they are being isolated now. Their travel timeline was also revealed.
Based on a post on Negros Daily Bulletin, the patients are a Belgian national and a Filipina who came from Wuhan City, the epicenter of the disease in China. They are suffering from cough and sore throat.
They flew from Wuhan to Vietnam in January 22. Supposedly, the Belgian national and the Pinay are set to return to Wuhan in January 30 but it is already under a lock-down.
Based on the report, instead, the Belgian national and the Filipina flew to Manila in January 31 and visited different places from February 1 to February 16.
The two (2) went to Bohol, Siquijor, and Dumaguete before they were admitted at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital. The new suspected coronavirus patients are now isolated and their have samples have already been sent for checking.
