Marcelito Pomoy Shares What ‘AGT’ Judge Howie Mandel Told Him Off-Camera

Pilipinas Got Talent 2011 champion Marcelito Pomoy shared what America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel told him off-camera.

The Pinoy singer relived the moment of joining a singing contest when he became part of the AGT Champions Edition. This month, Marcelito became a trending topic on social media because of her jaw-dropping performance in the said competition.

He shared in an interview with PEP that in February of 2019, his wife received a call from the staff of AGT. He was asked if he wanted to join the competition.

“Actually, noon pong una na kinuha nila ako sa America’s Got Talent, iyon lang ordinary, hindi po iyong Champions edition. Kinuha nila ako, sabi ko, ‘Ayaw kong sumali.’ Kasi, sabi kong ganoon, ‘Kung natalo ako, ano iyong pangalan ko dito sa Pilipinas?’ Champion ako, ‘tapos tatalunin na parang ordinary lang?” he shared.

With that, he was included in Champions Edition. The Pinoy singing champion also shared that the judges had no idea that he can do both male and female singing voices. Only the staff knew about it that it is why the reactions of the judges, as well as the judges, when he performed, were priceless.

Marcelito also had the chance for photo ops with the judges backstage. Aside from the comments on air that the judges told him after his performance, the singer also shared that Howie Mandel said something to him off-camera.

“Off cam po, kinausap po ako ni Howie [Mandel]. Sabi niya, ‘Napakagaling mo. You’re the best singer.’ Hindi niya alam kung anong meron daw sa loob niya, yung katawan ko. Ha! Ha! Ganoon po,” Marcelito Pomoy shared.

On the other hand, he said during the interview that he was not able to talk with judge Simon Cowell off-cam. According to the Pinoy singer, the AGT judge is really strict,
