President Bongbong Marcos: “Our family shares the Filipino people’s grief on this sad day.”
PRESIDENT BONGBONG MARCOS — The President has extended his condolences to the family of former President Fidel Ramos.
On Facebook, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said that he offered his deepest condolences to FVR’s family.
According to the President, FVR “lived a full life” as a public servant and as a military officer. The President also called on Filipinos to pray for FVR’s eternal repose.
“Our family shares the Filipino people’s grief on this sad day. We did not only lose a good leader but also a member of the family,” the President said. “The legacy of his presidency will always be cherished and will be forever enshrined in the hearts of our grateful nation.”
The Ramos family announced on Sunday that former President Fidel Ramos has passed away. Based on a report on Inquirer, the former President “died of COVID-19” at the age of 94.

Aside from the President, Vice President Sara Duterte also extended her “deepest condolences” to the Ramos family.
In a statement on her Facebook post, the Vice President said that FVR was a real patriot who urged “men and women in uniform to value their integrity as public servants.”
“I am one with the whole nation in grieving over the loss of a leader who, during his presidency, made peace possible in Mindanao,” the Vice President said. “May we find inspiration from FVR’s life and the immensity of the legacy that he built out of his love of country and fellow Filipinos.”
