Pregnant Nurse in UK Infected w/ COVID-19, the Baby Was Safely Delivered But the Mom Died
PREGNANT NURSE IN UK – A pregnant medical staff in UK died of COVID-19 while her baby girl was delivered safely.
Several countries now have a common enemy – the coronavirus. Officially called as COVID-19, this pandemic as declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) has claimed over 130,000 lives across the globe.
The said strain of coronavirus was first recorded in China where it infected over 81,000 people and took over 3,300 lives. China is now rising from the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak but several other nations are suffering from it.
In UK, one of those who were infected by COVID-19 is a pregnant nurse. The said medical personnel worked at the ward section at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital based on a report on ABS-CBN News.
According to the report, the said pregnant nurse in UK was identified as Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong. Sadly, the 28-year-old medical personnel died of COVID-19 while her baby girl was delivered safely.
It was last April when the nurse tested positive for coronavirus according Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Two (2) days later, she was admitted at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital where she was working.
Based on the report, Bedfordshire Hospitals Chief Executive David Carter confirmed the death of the nurse and expressed their condolences to her family and friends. She has worked there for five (5) years and is greatly loved.
“Mary worked here for five years and was a highly valued and loved member of our team, a fantastic nurse and a great example of what we stand for in this trust,” Carter said.
