Heart-Breaking Message of Filipino Doctor Who Died of COVID-19
FILIPINO DOCTOR – A Pinoy anesthesiologist, Dr. Greg Macasaet, left a message before dying of COVID-19.
Currently, there is a total of 380 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines. According to the Department of Health (DOH), fifteen (15) of these patients have already recovered from the disease.
Unfortunately, twenty-five (25) people died while being treated for coronavirus. One of these fatalities is Dr. Greg Macasaet.
The said Filipino doctor contracted COVID-19 following exposure to a patient who tested positive for coronavirus. Based on a viral post of Dr. Jose Gonzalo M. Ditching, the wife of the doctor is also in the hospital fighting against the said disease. He was able to left a message before he died.
Doc Greg continued to communicate with his loved ones during his fight against COVID-19 through a cellphone. When he knew his condition was not going a good way, he sent this message:
“Good evening, my beloved brethren ! The turn of events is just no longer going in my favor. The feeling you get, aside from extreme pains all over, difficulty of breathing and as if all life is being sucked from your body ! They will be putting cutdown lines and central tubes on me anytime soon ! If they intubate me and place me on ventilator, then the game is almost over ! If Ateng (referring to his wife) survives, then my wish for her and Raymond (his son who is with autism) for a long and happy life will bear fruition ! Raymond however needs financial and emotional care for the rest of his life ! Something I may no longer be able to fulfill! It Is my fervent hope that all of you may assist the rest of my Family in our most difficult times!”
Based on the message of Doc Greg as stated in the post, the Filipino doctor who died fighting against COVID-19 which has infected hundreds of people in PH now and thousands across the globe is looking back to the welfare of his son who has special needs. Raymond has autism. The doctor’s last wish for a good life and assistance for his family in these trying times.

I was saddened upon knowing the death of Dr. Greg Macasaet, who sacrificed his own life during the course of treating a covid patient. He deserve to be called a ” HERO.”
