On Friday, Derek shared on Instagram a cute couple photo and celebrated the 1st anniversary of their being a couple. In the caption, he told his wife that he’s looking forward to their 1st wedding anniversary.
“Happy first year my love as of your boyfriend,” Derek wrote. “Looking forward to our first year as your husband. I love you.“
The anniversary was clearly a big deal for the actor, who earlier shared a sweet seaside photo of the two of them kissing and said: “almost one year together”.
Ellen, for her part, shared on Instagram a video of the two of them together, as well as photos of them hugging, to mark the occasion.

In the caption, Ellen said that February 4 would be their first anniversary if Derek didn’t marry her. She even greeted her “ex-boyfriend” (now husband) with a happy anniversary and also expressed her love for him.
“Then (same day last year) and now. If you didn’t marry me in a heartbeat, today would be our 1st year anniversary together… but, gigil na gigil ka,” Ellen wrote. “Happy Anniversary ex-boyfriend. I love you.“
To recall, the couple met at a dinner sometime in January 2021 and confirmed their relationship in late February 2021. By the end of 2021, Derek and Ellen were happily married.
