The city government of Bacolod will be distributing food packs to 40,000 poor households throughout the 14-day enhanced community quarantine.
Evelio Leonardia, the mayor of Bacolod City, said that the initial distribution of food packs will start on March 30 and will benefit the “poorest of the poor” in the city.
This, after the city mayor on Friday issued Executive Order No. 26 Series of 2020 that placed the city under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from March 30, 2020, to April 14, 2020. The Association of Barangay Captains President Lady Gles Gonzales-Pallen said that sixty-one (61) barangays in the city have prepared food packs for their respective residents.
The city had four (4) confirmed COVID-19 cases which was based on the Department of Health – Western Visayas’ latest figure that was released last Friday, March 27, 2020.
