Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Senator Bong Go’s withdrawal from the presidential bid: “Malaking sakripisyo ‘yun sa kanya.”
ISKO MORENO — Here’s what the presidential aspirant said after Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go formally withdrew his candidacy for president in the 2022 elections.
Moreno said that he hoped Go will find peace following the withdrawal of his candidacy for president in the 2022 elections.
In an interview, Moreno said that he hoped the senator found himself because what he went through was a difficult decision and that’s a big sacrifice for him.
According to him, it’s really hard because a candidate will be emotionally, psychologically, and physically challenged in a presidential campaign and those outside things may affect one’s situation as well.
“I hope makita ni Senator Bong Go ang kanyang sarili dahil mahirap na desisyon ‘yung pinagdaanan niya. Malaking sakripisyo ‘yun sa kanya,” Moreno said. “It’s really hard because in a presidential campaign, you will be psychologically, emotionally and physically challenged. So ‘yung mga outside things may affect also your situation. Mas makakapag-pabigat ‘yun.”
On Tuesday, Go formally withdrew his candidacy for president at the Commission on Election (COMELEC) office in Intramuros, Manila.

Moreno also maintained that he’s seeking everyone’s support, including the president’s.
“Lahat naman katulad ng ordinaryong tao,” Moreno said. “Every single day it’s part of the plan na to convince voters in the coming election and that includes those people who are incumbent and maybe, and that includes the president.”
Meanwhile, President Duterte had earlier said that he will remain neutral in the 2022 elections.
Moreno said that he will vote for President Duterte as senator even if the President has someone he will support in the 2022 elections.
The Manila mayor, his running mate Dr. Willie Ong, Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc, Dr. Carl Balita, and Jopet Sison were in Sitio Liit, Barangay Purok 1 for their “Listening Tour”, as well as to attend the Domagoso-Sandoy family reunion.
