Here’s the response of Vico Sotto to netizen accusing him of corruption
VICO SOTTO – The incumbent mayor of Pasig City slammed the netizen accusing him of corruption.
In a Facebook post, a certain Anthony L. Torre, who is said to be a supporter of former Pasig mayor Bobby Eusebio, said that Sotto still has a lot of cash advances that are not liquidated.
According to him, the unliquidated cash advances have reached amounting to P33,730,513.32 from September 2019 to November 2021.
He also shared some documents that would allegedly prove his accusation against the incumbent mayor of Pasig.
But Vico Sotto denied the accusations of Torre.
It seems that the mayor is considering filing a complaint against the netizen for falsification of a public document.
Torre’s post has been deleted on social media, but many netizens have taken a picture of it.
Meanwhile, Vico Sotto is the son of actor-comedian-host Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes.
Sotto graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He later pursued a Master of Arts in Public Management at the Ateneo School of Government and graduated in 2018.
Prior to entering politics, Sotto taught social science at Arellano University for one semester.
It was in 2019 when he was elected as mayor of Pasig, ending the 27-year rule of the Eusebio family over the Pasig mayoralty.
During the 2019 elections, he campaigned on a platform called, “Big V” (Big Five) Agenda, which promotes universal healthcare, housing programs, education, public consultation, and anti-corruption efforts.
This year, the United States Department of State recognized Sotto as one of 12 recipients of the International Anticorruption Champions Award for his efforts toward anti-corruption.
