Vico Sotto Speaks On Bobby Eusebio's Claim Christmas Not Felt In Pasig

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto: “Mayroon naman, hindi lang siguro siya nakakaikot, hindi lang ganoon karami.”

VICO SOTTO — Here’s what the Pasig City mayor said about former Pasig Mayor Bobby Eusebio’s social media post questioning the lack of holiday decorations in the city.

On Friday, Mayor Vico refuted allegations that the Pasig City government fell short of making the Christmas spirit felt in the city.

“Mayroon naman, hindi lang siguro siya nakakaikot, hindi lang ganoon karami,” Sotto told ABS-CBN News.

According to Mayor Vico, the local government prioritized the procurement and distribution of Christmas food packs for all households in the city.

In an earlier tweet, Mayor Vico said that the Pasig City local government spent PHP 234.6 million in order to procure 375,000 Christmas food packs to be distributed to all households in the city.

“Ako, bilang mayor, kung ano ‘yung gusto ng tao, ‘yun ‘yung binibigay natin using their funds.” Mayor Vico said.

Mayor Vico’s response came after Eusebio criticized the current local administration in a series of social media posts this week for allegedly not putting enough effort in order to make Christmas a special occasion in the city.

Mayor Vico said that it’s a matter of prioritization especially during the time of the pandemic and it seemed that it’s also not appropriate to come up with something grand at the moment.

“It’s a matter of prioritization lalo na sa panahon ng pandemiya. Parang hindi rin tama na sobrang magarbo,” Mayor Vico said. “May ilaw naman, hindi lang ganun ka bongga, but mayroon pa rin naman.“
