Young Kid Earns Praises Online For Using Learnings in Boy Scouts to Save Lost Couple and Their Injured Dog
A young kid praises online after applying what he had learned in boy scouts to save a lost couple and an injured dog.
A 12-year-old kid in Hawaii has been hailed as a hero for his heroic deeds for saving a lost couple and their injured dog. A lot of people say that the boy deserved to get a recognition or merit badge for his good deed.
The young boy David King go with his mother on a 15-mile hike in Kailua, Hawaii. Coincidentally, the kid met a couple hiker and their dog. The couple didn’t asked for help but he sensed that there is something wrong.
“We encountered them with about two to three miles left in the hike. It wasn’t obvious (that something was wrong), but then the dog was on the ground, and we asked if they needed anything and they said yes,” King said.
David found out that the couple got lost in the woods and their mobile batteries have been drained so they could not contact someone for help. As the couple searches for the correct path to the end of the trail but their beloved pet dog got injured.
The boy decided to help the lost hikers because the sun is about to set and used his skills to create a makeshift stretcher for the dog. The makeshift stretcher is just made up of tree branch and shirts.

He guided the couple and they were able to reach the town safe and sound.
“To help someone using my Boy Scout skills makes me feel accomplished because it shows I’ve learned something and it wasn’t all in one ear and out the other,” David added.
