Here’s the message of Trillanes for Marcos loyalists
ANTONIO TRILLANES IV – The former Senator has two questions for loyalists of the late president, Ferdinand Marcos, who continues to support the latter’s son Bongbong Marcos as he vies for the highest post in the 2022 polls.
It was on September 21, 1972, when dictator Ferdinand Marcos placed the Philippines under Martial Law.
On Facebook, senatorial candidate Antonio Trillanes IV asked loyalists of the Marcoses as to why the late dictator was ousted from his post.
“Kung talagang maayos na presidente si Marcos, bakit sya pinatalsik ng mga Pilipino noong 1986 at tinalikuran pa sya ng AFP?,” he asked.
“At bakit hindi sya ipinaglaban ng mga loyalista nya kung totoong nasa tama sya at maraming nagmamahal sa kanya noon?” he added.
Trillanes, chair of the Magdalo Party, hopes that Filipinos will think carefully about who they will vote for in 2022.
“Pumili ng tama,” Trillanes noted. His post was accompanied by the hashtag #LeniKiko2022 as he shows support for Vice President Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan.
Meanwhile, Antonio Fuentes Trillanes IV is a retired Philippine Navy officer who served as a senator of the Philippines from 2007 to 2019.
He is known for his involvement in the Oakwood mutiny in 2003 and the Manila Peninsula siege in 2007 in protest against the Arroyo administration.
He ran for vice president in the 2016 national elections but lost to then Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo.
Trillanes is also an avid critic of the Duterte administration.
In February 2020, Trillanes launched his vlog TRx: Trillanes Explains, where he discusses pressing issues and releases exposés coursed through his social media accounts.
