Woman safely delivered her baby thanks to MMDA vaccination facility
A pregnant woman gave birth at a vaccination facility in Makai City on Monday, August 23.
According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the husband of the 26-year-old woman rushed to their main headquarters asking for help.
It was around 5:27 p.m. when the woman was brought by her husband- a tricycle driver to MMDA headquarters.
The vaccination team prepared a makeshift delivery table while waiting for the ambulance to come.
But after 14 minutes, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
MMDA said that the baby and her mother are in a stable condition and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
The husband said that he first took his wife to the lying-in clinic near Guadalupe Church. Unfortunately, it was closed.
Then, they went to the nearby barangay hall of Guadalupe Nuevo, wherein they were asked to wait for a while.
Eventually, they decided to go to MMDA headquarters.
Meanwhile, MMDA chairperson Benhur Abalos praised the vaccination team for helping the woman upon giving birth.
MMDA said that those who helped in the delivery of the woman were part of the Road Emergency Group.
This is not the first time that such an incident happened.
Last month, a Philippine National Police (PNP) mobile car served as a maternity ward for a woman who gave birth in Leyte.
PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar praised Patrolman Rossane Terrol for assisting a certain Leonisa Mabulay in her delivery.
Leonisa’s husband asked for help at Ormoc Police Station 3 because his wife was about to give birth.
Leonisa was rushed to a nearby hospital onboard the police mobile car but on the way to the hospital, she apparently gave birth.
Terrol, on the other hand, assists to ensure that the woman’s delivery is safe.
