Facebook rolled out Soundmojis on Messenger ahead of World Emoji Day
Facebook recently announced that it officially rolled out its new sound emoji feature “Soundmojis” on Messenger ahead of World Emoji Day.
With Soundmojis, this feature would let users send short sound clips in a Messenger chat — from clapping, crickets, and drumroll to audio clips from artists, TV shows, and movies.
Users made sure that their Messenger app was already updated to the latest version, otherwise, they should update the app first.

In order to access the said feature, users should start a chat in Messenger, tap the smiley face, and select the loudspeaker icon. From there, users can preview and send their favorite Soundmojis again and again.
“We’re launching an entire Soundmoji library for you to choose from, which we’ll update regularly with new sound effects and famous sound bites. Each sound is represented by an emoji, keeping the visual emojis we all love in play, while bringing sound into the mix,” Facebook said in a blog post.
The news arrived ahead of World Emoji Day, which happened every July 17 of every year. Also, the said feature came a few months after Facebook announced its integration with Instagram, although it wasn’t possible to use the said feature on other social networks.
