The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will launch a free online learning portal to encourage government employees to develop their digital skills.
In partnership with Microsoft Corporation, the Department of Information and Communications Technology designed a Workplace Learning and Development Platform, which composed of instructor-led, asynchronous, and blended online courses that focused on tasks relevant to specific types of duties.
The said portal offered 1,000 modules, 300 learning paths, and 21 specific roles that could be accessed for free.
According to DICT Secretary Gregorio “Gringo” B. Honasan II, the need to improve digital readiness in the new normal was all the more pressing, especially since technological progress translated not only into the ability to participate in the digital economy but also to have an improved quality of life.
“With this, we have partnered with Microsoft to empower our workforce, especially our government employees, through this educational portal wherein they can access relevant technology-related content and advance their ICT skills,” Honasan said.

LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft, and GitHub developed modules that can be completed in four to six hours, while others can be completed in under three hours.
According to Undersecretary Jose Arturo C. De Castro, the said partnership was one of their efforts to empower Filipinos, especially those working in the government.
“As civil servants, upskilling their ICT capacities will be pivotal in our digital transformation efforts, especially in the government sector,” De Castro said.
The said portal can be accessed through this site but some features were still in production including an accreditation feature that would provide certificates and professional licenses.
