Over 2 million Pfizer vaccine doses from COVAX Facility will arrive in the Philippines on June 11, according to Galvez.
Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. on Tuesday said that over 2 million Pfizer vaccine doses from COVAX Facility will arrive in the Philippines on June 11, 2021
In an update aired over state-run PTV, Galvez announced that the COVAX facility will deliver 2.2 million Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Philippines on June 11, marking the beginning of a steady monthly supply from COVAX.
The delivery of 2.2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses was initially scheduled for end-May but was rescheduled to June. So far, the Philippines had received an initial delivery of 193,050 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses from the COVAX facility.
Initial deliveries of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses from COVAX were deployed to Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao because they have the capacity to store those vaccine doses at the required temperature of -70°C.

“This June 11, there will be 2.2 million [Pfizer vaccines] arriving in the country. They will be deployed directly to barangays in Cebu, Davao and Metro Manila,” Galvez said in Filipino.
The national government expected some 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to arrive in June.
Galvez also said that the country’s COVID-19 vaccine supply will be “stabilized” by July, comprised mostly of Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines.
He added that more than 5 million Filipinos, of the total 110 million population, had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
