Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on people tested positive for COVID-19
Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo shared her message for fellow former President Joseph Estrada after he tested positive for COVID-19.
On Monday, reports surfaced that the former actor-turned-politician got infected by the virus. During the duration of the pandemic since early 2020, several prominent personalities in the Philippines got infected by COVID-19.
In a previous report, the former Manila Mayor was rushed to the hospital on the night of March 28, based on the Facebook post of his son politician Jinggoy Estrada.
The younger Estrada shared in an interview that it was last Thursday when they noticed that the former President was not as healthy as the usual. With this, Jinggoy decided that his father should already have the swab test.
According to the former Senator, his father might have acquired the virus through his visitors. In a latest update from Jinggoy, he said that the condition of the former President has improved.
In line with this health status of Joseph Estrada, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo shared her message for her fellow former President. Based on the report from News5, the female politician is offering prayers for him and to all who got infected by the virus, as well.
“I wish to extend my warmest wishes for a speedy recovery to former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada and all those battling COVID-19. You are in my thoughts and prayers,” she said.
To recall, Estrada did not finish his six-year term as the President of the Philippines because he was impeached. He was succeeded by Arroyo who was his Vice-President at that time.
