A vaccine donation to the Philippines was for a “friend in need”, according to a Chinese envoy.
Ahead of the arrival of China’s Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine donated by China, a Chinese envoy said that it’s a tradition between China and the Philippines to help each other in times of need.
“A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
In a Facebook post, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian said that the donation of COVID-19 vaccines was another testament to the solidarity as well as profound friendship and partnership between two peoples and two countries.
According to Huang Xilian, he hoped that the COVID-19 vaccines would help kick off the mass vaccination campaign in the Philippines in order to curb the coronavirus pandemic and would allow Filipinos’ life to return to normal at the earliest.
Huang Xilian also said that their friendship and partnership amidst the coronavirus pandemic would continue to grow and prosper as they fought against the coronavirus pandemic hand in hand.
