Galvez: PH To Accomplish Supply Agreements For 5 COVID-19 Vaccine Brands By End Of February 2021

The Philippines would accomplish the supply agreements for 5 COVID-19 vaccine brands by the end of February 2021, according to Galvez.

Galvez said at the Laging Handa briefing on Tuesday that he can’t divulge yet the brands of these vaccines in compliance with a confidential disclosure agreement (CDA; also known as the “non-disclosure agreement”).

Sa ngayon po, ang supply agreement na inaayos po natin [ay] ‘yung sa lima. We are on the advanced stage already on the negotiation. We are expecting this coming end of month of February ay matapos na lahat ng details ng supply agreement,” Galvez said.

On Monday, he said that the Philippines had secured 106 to 108 million COVID-19 vaccine doses after signing five term sheets with vaccine manufacturers.

Included in the terms of supply agreements, according to Galvez, were the mode of payments and delivery schedules.

In a report on GMA News Online, Galvez earlier said that they’re targeting to secure all supply agreements and term sheets on COVID-19 vaccines before the end of January or on the first week of February.

As per the report, the Philippine government aimed to secure around 148 million COVID-19 vaccine doses in order to vaccinate 50 to 70 million Filipinos in the year 2021.
