Update on Christine Dacera Case Investigation
CHRISTINE DACERA CASE – The Philippine National Police (PNP) spoke on the move to embalm the body of the flight attendant before the autopsy.
The death of flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera caught national attention. It was last January 1 when the F.A. of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) was found unconscious in a bathtub of a hotel room they’re staying.
Dacera was with her friends at the City Garden Grand Hotel to celebrate the New Year. According to her companions, they had hard drinks and they also played parlor games.
One of their friends also introduced them to some people staying in another hotel room. She even joined the games in the other room.
However, according to Dacera’s friend Rommel Galido, he found her unconscious in a bathtub the following morning. They took her and tried to revive her. She was rushed to Makati Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.
In line with the Christine Dacera case, an autopsy was conducted on the body of the flight attendant. The first autopsy determined ruptured aneurysm as the cause of the death of the 23-year-old F.A.

The Dacera family is not convinced with the findings. There’s also another issue in line with the autopsy conducted. It was done after the body was embalmed.
Recently, the PNP spoke on embalming the flight attendant’s body before the autopsy in line with the Christine Dacera case. Based on the Philippine Star, Police Maj. Gen. Marni Marcos cited the new guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As for the reason of the medico-legal, it was stated in the new guidelines for the new normal on the autopsy of cadavers,” the PNP’s Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DITM) Chief said.
Marcos also cited that the medico-legal initially said that Dacera has been to other places and she also came from a hotel that was used for quarantine.
According to the DITM Chief, what the PNP medico-legal conducted was “soft embalming”. He stressed that they are still investigating if there are new procedures he was not able to do.
