IATF to meet on Monday, December 28
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) is expected to meet on Monday, December 28 to discuss quarantine qualifications for January 2021 among different areas in the country.
In a statement, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the quarantine qualifications will be based on the country’s healthcare capacity as well as the number of daily COVID-19 cases.
“Sa (December) 28 po magkakaroon na po ng IATF meeting, magkakaroon na po ng discussions with our IATF members as well as other members,” she said during the televised public briefing of Laging Handa.
Earlier, the OCTA Research Group said that new coronavirus cases might clinch to 4,000 infections per day particularly in Metro Manila if the people will not follow standard safety and health protocols especially during the holidays.
It also gave a warning that COVID-19 cases may spike in selected areas such as Caloocan, Valenzuela, Malabon, and Quezon City.
Meanwhile, the country has already recorded 467,601cases of COVID-19 with 430,791 recoveries and 9,062 deaths, as of Friday, December 25.
