Pimentel: “Sen. Pacquiao will bring not only more energy… but also more discipline”
Senator Koko Pimentel has issued a statement on the appointment of Senator Manny Pacquiao as the new president of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
Recently, the ruling political party appointed the boxer-turned-senator to be its new president replacing the outgoing leader, Koko Pimentel.
In a statement, Koko Pimentel said: “Sen. Pacquiao will bring not only more energy to the party in the sense of expanding its membership but also more discipline to the current members in the sense of inculcating in them the concept of principles-based politics which includes their party membership.”
“I have asked that I be allowed to concentrate on deepening our understanding of our ideology (5 basic principles) and deepening our ties with our existing international allies,” he added.
It was on Wednesday night, December 2 when Manny Pacquiao was sworn in as the new president of the political party of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Koko Pimentel on the other hand now serves as the executive vice-chairman of the political party which was founded in 1982.
