According to Miggy Rodulfo, a doctor at the JMA Memorial District Hospital in Bato, Catanduanes, the typhoon left extensive damage in their area.

“I’m worried kasi ang dami pong sira ‘yung buong isla so yun we need help po, anything na help,” he said.

According to Rodulfo, during the calamity, they immediately looked for shelter for the patients because the roof of their hospital was already peeling off.

“Kagabi pa ako naiiyak during the typhoon akala ko kasi mamamatay na talaga ako and that was my worry po,” he stressed.

“Na-secure namin sila sa iisang area na medyo takot na rin kami kasi baka magtuklapan na nga kasi nagtataasan na po yung bubong eh lumilipad na sila paunti unti kasi ang tagal po ng bagyo,” he noted.

Many households and establishments were also damaged.

Some houses no longer have roofs, and the farm crops in Sipi sa Bato are gone.

He also said that some patients in other towns go to their hospital to be admitted.

In the last part of his message, Rodulfo called for help — from food, drinking water, clothing, medicine, and restoring the joy to the so-called “Happy Island.”
