Actress Angel Locsin thanked Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla.
This was after the 53-year-old local executive slammed Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. over his accusations.
Parlade is the spokesperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), which is now controversial due to the alleged red-tagging of some celebrities.
In a Facebook post on October 21, Parlade warned Kapamilya star Liza Soberano against joining the NPA.
The military general’s post also mentioned the name of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who’s also active in advocating women’s rights.
In the last part of that post, Parlade directly linked Angel, his sister Ella Colmenares, and human rights lawyer Atty. Neri Colmenares to communist groups particularly NPA.
But on Monday, October 26, Governor Remulla directly slapped Parlade in a Facebook post.
The governor is alarmed over “red-tagging operations” against “prominenteng personalidad tulad nina Angel Locsin, Liza Soberano at Catriona Gray. Kahit si Isko Moreno Domagoso ay dinamay na rin.”
Meanwhile, Angel Locsin thanked the governor for defending them against Parlade’s accusations.
“Thank you Gov. Remulla for giving him a dose of his own medicine.”
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana also told Parlade to stop accusing various personalities and groups of involvement in the NPA.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año, on the other hand, was dismayed at Parlade’s red-tagging of Liza, Catriona, and Angel.
