The P-pop star laughed off the surprise theft during her Undas break trip, and later told fans she got her shades back
BALI, Indonesia (November 5, 2026) – A quick photo op turned into one of the funniest viral clips of the week after a monkey snatched the sunglasses right off the face of BINI member Aiah Arceta during her trip to Bali.
Aiah posted the short TikTok video while on vacation during the Undas break. In the clip, the P-pop star is seen posing for the camera while leaning on a stone ledge when a monkey suddenly climbs up beside her and pries the shades off her face.
The surprised singer steps away as the monkey fiddles with the eyewear for a moment, then scrambles down and runs off with its prize.
“Sneaky monkeyy haha,” Aiah wrote in the caption.
Happy ending for the shades
Fans who worried about the expensive-looking sunglasses got good news soon after. In a later update, Aiah told her followers, “Good news: I got my shades back hahaha.”
The video racked up more than two million views in less than a day, along with over half a million likes, and was closing in on three million views by Thursday.
Netizens could not stop joking about it. Some said the monkey was lucky to grab a pricey pair of shades, while others said they could not stop laughing at the moment her photo shoot was cut short. A few fans said they were simply relieved she was not hurt.
Several commenters also reminded travelers that monkeys at some of Bali’s tourist spots are known to grab sunglasses, phones and hats, and that visitors are often advised to keep loose items out of reach.
Aiah’s getaway comes before BINI’s last show of its “Signals” world tour, set for November 15 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
