Elderly Driver Breaks Down After Ivana Alawi Gives Him Cash and Store
IVANA ALAWI – The actress and vlogger once again touched many people after helping an elderly jeepney driver who had been struggling with financial problems.
In one of her vlogs, she met 77-year-old Ruben, whose jeepney was damaged after an accident, leaving him unable to continue working. During their conversation, Ruben shared that his wife suffers from epilepsy and that his only wish was to have a small store that could help support their daily needs and provide money for medicine. He also revealed that despite having children, he and his wife were not receiving support from them, making their situation even more difficult.
Moved by his story, Ivana immediately decided to help. She first gave Ruben ₱30,000 in cash for his immediate needs and later surprised him with a small store business worth ₱50,000. The elderly driver became emotional and thankful, saying the assistance would greatly help them, especially with his wife’s medication.
Because of the business, Ruben also shared that he no longer plans to return to driving and instead wants to focus on running the store together with his wife. He admitted that he could hardly believe the sudden change in their lives after receiving help.
Many netizens praised Ivana for her quick action and generosity. Some even compared her efforts to public service, saying she responds faster than many institutions. Ivana simply expressed hope that her actions would inspire others to help people in need as well.
Helping others is not new for Ivana. She has become widely known for using her YouTube platform to support struggling individuals and families, often giving away the earnings from her videos directly to those she features. One of her most memorable acts of kindness involved a homeless man named Kuya Hesus, who offered his last ₱10 to someone he believed was a pregnant woman in need. After seeing his compassion, Ivana helped reunite him with his family, provided land, livestock, a new house, and financial support for his medical and personal needs.
