Interpol Representatives Allegedly Arrive in the Philippines Over ICC Warrant Against Bato dela Rosa
Reports have surfaced claiming that the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against Ronald dela Rosa in connection with the controversial war on drugs under former President Rodrigo Duterte. According to several sources, the warrant has reportedly already been received by Interpol, and representatives are said to be currently in the Philippines to coordinate possible actions regarding the case.
Dela Rosa was identified as one of Duterte’s alleged co-perpetrators in the crimes against humanity investigation related to thousands of drug war killings during the previous administration. Reports also noted that he has rarely attended Senate sessions since November 2025, when information about a possible arrest warrant first began circulating publicly. His last known public appearance was reportedly in November of the same year.
Despite the growing reports, both the Department of Justice and the ICC have not officially confirmed the existence of the warrant. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice said the agency currently has no verified information regarding the reported order from the international court. Because of this, questions remain about the actual status of the case and whether an arrest operation will take place.

Meanwhile, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said authorities are preparing a possible 10,000-person task force in case a warrant is formally enforced against the senator. Reports also stated that Dela Rosa recently filed a bill seeking to prevent foreign interference in national affairs despite his continued absence from Senate sessions.

If confirmed, Dela Rosa would become the second high-ranking Philippine official linked to the anti-drug campaign to face an arrest warrant from the ICC, following former President Rodrigo Duterte. As of now, authorities have not disclosed the senator’s current location, while public attention surrounding the case continues to grow nationwide.
