Maria Isabel Lopez Hospitalized After Crash, Now Stable and Recovering

Maria Isabel Lopez Recovering After Surviving Serious Car Crash in California

MARIA ISABEL LOPEZ – The Filipina beauty queen and actress is now recovering after surviving a serious car crash in California, bringing relief to her family and supporters.

The accident happened along Gravenstein Highway near Hessel Road in Sebastopol while she was driving home and was only minutes away from her destination. The situation quickly turned dangerous when her vehicle collided head-on with another car coming from the opposite lane.

The impact triggered her phone’s emergency alert system, and multiple airbags were deployed. Due to the damage, she could not open the car door from the inside and had to wait for emergency responders, who brought her to Kaiser Santa Rosa for treatment.

Medical examinations revealed that she suffered a rupture in her intestines, requiring immediate surgery. Doctors removed a significant portion of her intestines, around 70 centimeters, to address the damage. During her recovery in the hospital, she later developed inflammation and an abscess in her abdomen, which required another medical procedure to remove the infection. She stayed in the hospital for 13 days before being discharged and is now continuing her recovery at home with the help of a wound vacuum to support healing.

Photos of her in a hospital bed circulated online on April 27, drawing concern from the public. Her daughter, Mara Lopez, reassured everyone that her mother is alive and recovering, emphasizing that her survival is what matters most. Her husband, Jonathan Melrod, also shared that although the accident caused serious internal injuries and infection, she is now out of the hospital and steadily getting better.

Despite the severity of the accident, Maria Isabel Lopez remains grateful for surviving the incident and is now focused on regaining her strength.
