PBBM is Not a “Lowbat” Leader, Says Recto

Recto Defends Marcos Jr., Says He Is a Strong and Active Leader

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto defended the health and work performance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying that the President remains highly active, focused, and fully capable of leading the country despite ongoing public questions about his condition.

Recto described President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as a very hardworking leader who handles multiple responsibilities every day. He said the President starts working early in the morning and continues his duties late into the night, managing both official meetings in Malacañang and engagements outside Metro Manila. According to him, the President’s schedule is consistently full and demanding, showing no signs of slowing down.

He also shared that Marcos often sends work-related messages very early in the morning and continues communicating even late at night, which he said reflects the President’s constant involvement in government matters. For Recto, this routine shows that Marcos is always alert and actively monitoring national concerns at any time of the day.

“Kaya hindi po yan diskarte ng isang lowbat na lider, tulad ng paninira ng kakarampot na lantutay na ang mga isip,” Recto said.

To support his statements, Recto pointed to the President’s recent activities, including meetings and official visits to provinces such as Nueva Ecija, Benguet, and Pangasinan. He also mentioned the President’s participation in transportation-related programs in Cubao, where he observed public transport services and interacted with stakeholders.

Recto added that Marcos also showed physical activity during public engagements, such as when he was seen lifting sacks of rice during a demonstration and when he went jogging within the Malacañang compound. He noted that even members of the media found it difficult to keep up with the President during the jogging activity, which he said further proves his good physical condition.
