Daniel Fernando Reacts to Claims Linking Him to Kim Rodriguez
DANIEL FERNANDO — The actor-politician has addressed the long-running rumors linking him to actress Kim Rodriguez, clarifying claims about a supposed secret relationship.
For some time, the two have been the subject of online discussions, with some suggesting that they were romantically involved and simply keeping it private to avoid controversy. The rumors also included allegations that the governor was financially supporting the actress and had given her an expensive car, which continued to circulate on social media.
In an interview with Susan Enriquez on the vlog Kay Susan Tayo, his personal life was brought up, and he was directly asked about his connection with Kim Rodriguez. He explained that he knows her and has met her in person, but their relationship never went beyond being acquaintances. He firmly denied that she was ever his girlfriend or that they had any romantic involvement. He also dismissed the idea that they were more than friends. When asked if they were close, he simply described her as a female friend, responding in a calm and straightforward manner.
Fernando also shared that the issue likely began after photos of them appeared online in May 2025. In those images, the actress was seen holding a bouquet of flowers while standing beside him, and in one photo, he had his arm around her. A yellow luxury car visible in the background further fueled speculation, leading some to assume that there was something more between them.
He explained that the photos were taken out of context and may have been used by political opponents to create controversy. He also denied claims that he had given Rodriguez large amounts of money or expensive gifts. Despite negative comments online, Rodriguez chose not to engage.
