Sue Prado Dies at 44
The Philippine entertainment industry is mourning the sudden passing of actress Sue Prado, who died on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the age of 44.
Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news through a social media post shared by her twin sister, May Shereen Prado, on Wednesday night, April 15. In their message, the family described Sue as someone who brought light into the lives of many people and lived a life dedicated to others, her craft, and her loved ones. They also encouraged the public to honor her memory through kindness, while noting that further details about her wake would be announced later. The cause of her death was not disclosed.
Her passing came as a shock to many, especially since she was still active just days earlier. On April 11, she attended a story conference for the upcoming film The Flying Red Balloon, which was set to be filmed in Taiwan and star Liezel Lopez and McCoy de Leon under the direction of Louie Ignacio. During the event, she was also interviewed and shared her thoughts on current global issues, including conflicts in the Middle East and rising fuel concerns.

Sue, whose full name was Marissa Sue Prado, was set to turn 45 on May 18, just over a month after her passing. In 2023, she earned critical praise for her role in Your Mother’s Son, which led to award nominations. Her most recent film appearance was in Desperada, shown as part of Sinag Maynila 2026 and released just last March.
Aside from films, Sue was also active in television, appearing in several well-known series on GMA-7 and other networks, including FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Sahaya, Bolera, Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap, and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
