Sofia Trazona Questions Stepfather’s Attack on ‘King of Talk’
SOFIA TRAZONA – The social media personality criticized his stepfather, Alvin Aragon, after Aragon publicly targeted veteran TV host Boy Abunda, widely known as the “King of Talk,” suggesting that his show should be removed from the air.
In a social media post, Sofia questioned why his stepfather agreed to appear on the program in the first place if he disagreed with its content, especially since the show openly highlights and accepts members of the LGBTQIA+ community. He also highlighted the irony of benefiting from the platform while later rejecting it when other guests shared their perspectives.
Sofia further challenged his stepfather to focus on other pressing national issues, such as rising oil prices or the absence of government officials, instead of attacking a show for promoting acceptance and inclusivity.

He noted: “you weren’t supposed to be on that show. the irony is sumampa ka sa show knowing na tito boy is part of the community because you’ll benefit from it pero nung other guests shared their piece, ayaw mo na sa show?” Sofia added: “also wala na bang ibang issue? why not try speaking for the oil price hike or hindi pag pasok ng mga government officials.”

The controversy started when Aragon issued an open letter addressed to a GMA Network executive, criticizing the show and its writers for allegedly influencing Filipino viewers, particularly parents, to accept LGBTQIA+ identities. He framed his objection as a moral issue, claiming that promoting acceptance of gay, transgender, and queer individuals goes against his religious beliefs. Although Aragon did not explicitly name Boy Abunda, the reference was obvious given Abunda’s well-known title.
“Maam Annette, Ang king of talk ang dapat inaalisan ng show at ang writer ng show. Kasi he uses, they uses this platform to encouraged and influenced Filipino people especially Filipino parents. Gusto nila palabasin na Ok lang, Na walang masama ang maging bakla, maging tomboy, maging trans at maging queer,” he wrote.
As of now, Boy Abunda and his team have not issued any official response to Aragon’s remarks.
