Joseph Bitangcol Breaks Silence on Sandara Park Controversy
JOSEPH BITANGCOL – The actor firmly denied allegations linking Sandara Park to illegal drug use, expressing full confidence in her character.
The issue arose after Park Bom suggested that she had been unfairly involved in a past drug controversy to protect Sandara’s image. Both Sandara and Park Bom are members of the K-pop group 2NE1. Sandara has already denied the claims and instead expressed her hope for Park Bom’s well-being, while the latter eventually deleted her related social media post.
Joseph, who previously dated Sandara, emphasized that he knew her well during their time together and described her as a hardworking and family-oriented person. He believes it is completely out of her nature to engage in illegal activities, noting her strong discipline and focus on her career and loved ones.
The two first met on the reality show Star Circle Quest in 2004, where they became a couple and stayed together for about three years before Sandara moved to South Korea to pursue her career. Despite their history, Joseph shared that they no longer have personal communication and only occasionally interact in group chats with former co-contestants. He explained that public curiosity about their past relationship is natural, especially since theirs was a confirmed romance.
Joseph expressed no frustration about being asked about Sandara, acknowledging that she remains a significant part of his public identity. He admitted some regret over their past relationship, recognizing its potential, but accepted that it was not meant to last. He also described Sandara as someone special in his life and someone he still respects.
Now married with children, Joseph continues to pursue acting projects while facing personal challenges, including his mother’s ongoing battle with stage 4 breast cancer. Despite past regrets, he remains grateful for the opportunities that shaped his career.
