Retired U.S. Marine Removed from Senate Hearing After Anti-War Protest

Senate Hearing Interrupted as Veteran Marine Demands America Not Fight for Israel

BRIAN MCGINNIS – A retired U.S. Marine was forcibly removed from a Senate hearing after attempting to protest the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran.

The incident occurred on March 4, 2026, at the U.S. Capitol, and videos of the confrontation quickly went viral on social media. McGinnis, dressed in his Marine uniform, stood up in the audience area and called on the military commandant to stand up for America, asserting that Israel was the cause of the war and that Americans did not want to fight it on Israel’s behalf.

Two U.S. Capitol Police officers approached McGinnis and tried to escort him out. As he was being pulled and lifted from the hearing room, he continued shouting that Americans did not want their sons and daughters sent to war for Israel, criticizing the Senate for failing to acknowledge this. During the struggle, his arm was caught in a door, resulting in a visible injury. A senator and additional officers assisted in removing him, and three police officers also reported minor injuries.

McGinnis later shared videos on social media, including his Instagram, where he explained that he had hoped to question lawmakers about sending U.S. troops to conflict zones despite promises that no world war would occur. He concluded his message with calls for freedom for Palestine and America, emphasizing his anti-war stance.

Following the incident, McGinnis was arrested and faces multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and participating in an unlawful demonstration. Capitol Police confirmed that the situation was de-escalated after he was removed and that all injured parties received medical attention.
