Sharon Cuneta Reacts to the Robredo-Marcos Meeting
SHARON CUNETA – The Megastar reacted to the meeting between Leni Robredo and Ferdinand Marcos Jr., making it clear that there was nothing fake or opportunistic about it.
She explained that the meeting was not about switching loyalties or pretending to be friendly for personal gain. For her, a “balimbing” is someone who abandons loyal partnerships for self-interest, while a “plastic” person builds relationships only for personal advantage.
She stressed that being respectful and civil toward others—especially a sitting president—does not mean giving up one’s principles. According to her, leaders can disagree politically and still work together when it benefits the public. She encouraged people to allow the President to focus on his responsibilities and expressed hope for the country’s progress.

The meeting in Naga City centered on public service. Robredo, now the mayor of Naga, thanked Marcos for approving ₱500 million in national funding to rehabilitate the Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum, named after her late husband. The funds, released through the Department of Budget and Management, will be used to modernize and strengthen the facility. Plans include structural upgrades, roof repairs, improved sanitation, better drainage systems to prevent flooding, and the addition of dedicated medical response areas. A community kitchen will also be installed to serve thousands of residents during disasters.

The coliseum, known as the “Big Dome of the South,” is an important venue for sports events, concerts, and large gatherings. It also serves as an evacuation center during typhoons and earthquakes. Robredo said the funding would also help improve other long-neglected facilities in the city, including the Metro Naga Sports Complex and the Naga City Civic Center.

Marcos later visited Naga to inspect the administration’s flood control efforts under the Oplan Kontra Baha program. Days after their meeting in Naga, the two saw each other again in Malacañang during a national government event supporting local government units, as well as a classroom-building program aimed at addressing the country’s classroom shortage.
