The Truth Behind Rod Navarro Jr.’s Accusations Against Coco Martin
OGIE DIAZ – The talent manager and showbiz insider responded to claims made by actor Rod Navarro Jr., son of the late director Rod Navarro, that Coco Martin and the production team of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo treated him unfairly. Rod Jr. alleged that he was insulted and mistreated on set, sparking widespread discussion online.
In a detailed Facebook post, Ogie explained that he only recently saw a message from Rod Jr., in which he had previously praised Coco and requested an interview to express his gratitude. Ogie questioned how Rod Jr. could claim mistreatment when he had personally reached out to thank Coco, highlighting the contradiction. He also noted the timing of Rod Jr.’s post—around 4:20 a.m.—and suggested that fatigue or emotional stress might have influenced his anger.
Ogie emphasized that Coco did not know Rod Jr. personally before the show, yet he still gave him opportunities, including a role in the series and screen time. When Rod Jr. was temporarily out of work, Coco offered him a marshal role on set and even proposed ₱100,000 to help him start a business, provided that he and his family submitted a proper business plan. After seven months, Rod Jr. did not claim the funds, which were then returned to Coco.

Ogie further clarified that Rod Jr.’s character leaving the show was part of the story, following the death of actress Irma Adlawan’s character. He reminded Rod Jr. that, even though they were not close, Coco had provided guidance, opportunities, and recognition. Rod Jr. had even described Coco as kind and patient in a message sent in November 2024.

Ogie concluded by questioning the source of Rod Jr.’s anger in 2026, stressing that the entertainment industry rewards those who show respect and gratitude. He underscored that this story serves as a reminder of the importance of appreciating help and opportunities, especially in a competitive field where success is built through respect, gratitude, and hard work.
