Rod Navarro Jr. Opens Up About Harsh Treatment and False Accusations
ROD NAVARRO JR. – The son of the late veteran actor Rod Navarro publicly expressed his frustration and disappointment over how he was treated on the set of Coco Martin’s TV series Batang Quiapo.
Speaking out on social media, Rod Jr. revealed that he felt humiliated and insulted by some members of the production team despite doing his work professionally.
The conflict began after Coco Martin shared in an interview that he had helped someone join the cast of the series, expressing disappointment that the person became discouraged despite being given the opportunity. Coco said that while he could offer opportunities, it was ultimately up to the individual to make the most of them.

Rod Jr. responded strongly, saying that Coco’s account was untrue and misrepresented what happened. He shared that he had refused help from Coco because he was subjected to verbal abuse, threats, and humiliation, even after providing his medical records showing he was suffering from internal bleeding. He stressed that the negative treatment on set, including being publicly scolded and insulted by the directors, damaged his confidence and added to his emotional struggle during a difficult personal period.
Despite the harsh treatment, Rod Jr. maintained that he had expressed gratitude to Coco, acknowledging the opportunity given to him. He emphasized that his public statements were intended to clarify his side of the story and defend his dignity, highlighting that his work on set and his performance were done properly.

He also mentioned the legacy of his family’s connection to the Philippine film industry, particularly his father’s contributions to the movies of the late Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ), the action star known as “Da King.” Rod Jr. explained that he is working hard to make a name for himself and to prove that the criticisms and insults directed at him were unjustified.
