Woman Killed by Stray Bullet While Visiting Boyfriend’s Area in Tondo
A woman who was only celebrating Christmas in her boyfriend’s area died after being hit by a stray bullet in Tondo.
On Thursday (December 25, 2025), the woman had simply visited her boyfriend’s neighborhood to celebrate Christmas when she was fatally struck by a stray bullet in Tondo, Manila. According to the police, a shooting happened in the area, and the incident is still under investigation.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred in Barangay 120 while residents were outside their homes enjoying a Christmas gathering. The area was filled with people sharing food and spending time together when sudden gunfire broke the calm. Panic quickly spread as people ran for safety.
The victim was among those who tried to escape. She was hit by a bullet in the shoulder, which later passed through her lung. At first, those with her believed she had only been grazed. They rushed her to the hospital, hoping she would recover.
Sadly, despite efforts to save her, the woman did not survive her injuries. Her death left her family, friends, and the community in deep shock, especially since she was not a resident of the area and had no involvement in the violence.
Residents later shared that they initially thought the loud sounds were fireworks, common during the Christmas season. When the gunshots continued, fear set in and people realized something was seriously wrong.
Investigators later found bullet marks on a wall and even on a nearby tricycle, showing how dangerous the situation was.
Authorities believe that two individuals were involved in a gunfight, and the woman was caught in the middle as an innocent bystander. Police have identified possible persons of interest but are still investigating to fully determine what happened and who is responsible.
As of this writing, the Manila Police have chosen not to give further details while the case is being examined.
