Sassa Gurl Opens up About her Love Life
SASSA GURL – The well-known Filipino content creator and entertainer shared that she is dating someone who is not part of the entertainment industry.
In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, she said that she has become wiser in love and now values privacy and peace in her personal life. She explained that her partner complements her in ways her past relationships did not, and she prefers someone outside showbiz to avoid complications. Sassa also joked that since their relationship is still new, she cannot fully show it off yet, and there is always the chance of being “ghosted,” bringing a lighthearted touch to her honest discussion about love.
Born Felix Petate in Quezon City, Sassa Gurl is a trans woman and uses she/her pronouns. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, she faced challenges exploring her identity while growing up with conservative parents. She started her path in entertainment after leaving college to pursue styling but later returned and graduated from Far Eastern University. Working in a call center allowed her to buy her first smartphone, which she used to begin her career on social media.
Sassa became popular for her funny skits, lip-sync videos, and creative content on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X. She also gained recognition as the “Drag Runner” and judge on Drag Den. Her acting includes TV shows like Wish Ko Lang and Royal Blood, and films such as Balota, Bar Boys: After School, The Entitled, and Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins.
In music, Sassa released singles like “Lagot!” and “Maria Hiwaga” and collaborated with artists like Toni Fowler, Manila Luzon, Aries Night, and Stef Aranas. In 2022, she became the first LGBTQIA+ person featured in White Castle Whisky’s calendar campaign. Her work and advocacy earned her the Most Empowering National Digital Voice award at the 2025 Paragala Media Awards.
