Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims She’s Always Ready To Answer Allegations Based on “Fact and Truth”
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President released a statement on possible fresh impeachment complaint by the House of Representatives against her.
After the Supreme Court previously ruled that the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte is unconstitutional, the Senate archived the controversial impeachment complaint. Its decision was met with countless criticisms as many Filipinos called for the impeachment trial to start long before the SC released its decision.

The Supreme Court stated in its ruling that the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is unconstitutional for not abiding by the one-year ban rule on impeachment complaints. According to the high court, a fresh impeachment complaint may only be filed after February 5, 2026.

Following the decision of the Supreme Court, 19 senators voted in favor of the motion to archive the impeachment complaint against the Vice President. Only four (4) senators stood on a negative response towards the motion.

Now that a new year is fast approaching, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) recently confirmed that a fresh impeachment complaint may be filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte after the ban is lifted. According to BAYAN chairperson Teddy Casiño, what happened then was allegedly incomplete.
“Isang pinaghahandaan ’yung pagtatapos ng one-year ban sa February. Most likely magfa-file po tayo ng impeachment ulit. Kasi bitin ’yung nangyari, hindi natuloy sa trial,” the BAYAN chairperson said.
However, Casiño admitted that they still have to study about filing a fresh impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to him, the Court has added several rules which made the filing of an impeachment complaint even more challenging.
“Pinag-aaralan kasi namin ano ‘yung naging implications nitong Supreme Court ruling… Maraming dinagdag na mga conditions ang Supreme Court. Medyo mas mahirap na ngayong mag-file ng impeachment. So ’yun ang mga pinag-aaralan. Of course, the intention is there,” the BAYAN chairperson said.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte released a statement on the possible fresh impeachment complaint against her. The Vice President claimed that it is “not surprising” and its alleged timing supposedly shows a familiar pattern.
“Not long ago, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Rep. Toby Tiangco, and several House members revealed that, back in February 2024, signatures for my impeachment were being courted in exchange of budget allocations. Their statements have unmasked the truth that the impeachment complaint against me was never really driven by principle but by price. Despite such revelations, no inquiry or investigation was conducted to hold anyone accountable,” Duterte wrote.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, billions of Pesos were allegedly spent on political warfare when they should have been utilized for the Filipino people. She call on those who are allegedly behind the impeachment process against her to “stop hiding behind the language of ‘good governance'”.
“I have always stood ready to answer any allegation grounded in fact and truth. But I cannot remain silent while the impeachment process is being twisted into a budget-driven racket. Filipinos deserve better,” the Vice President stated in her statement.
