Kiko Barzaga Claims There May Be a Plan to Remove Him from the House Before 2025 Ends

Kiko Barzaga Says He Could Be Ousted from the House by Year-End

KIKO BARZAGA – The Cavite 4th District Representative has claimed that there may be a plan to remove him from the House of Representatives before the end of 2025, amid ongoing hearings by the House Committee on Ethics regarding an impeachment complaint filed against him.

In a recent television interview, Barzaga expressed concern over the speed at which the hearings are progressing. He suggested that if he is not removed in November, the effort could continue in December, before the current congressional session concludes. He noted that he doubts the intentions behind this apparent rush, saying that they want to finish the hearings before the session adjourns in December.

The complaint against Barzaga reportedly stems from allegations of “lewd content” linked to his social media account, as well as other statements he has made on previous issues. Despite the accusations, he emphasized that he is ready to face the Ethics Committee and prove that he has not violated any laws or rules of the House.

On his social media platforms, Barzaga openly accused President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of being behind the effort to oust him. He criticized what he perceives as selective justice, pointing out that others, including Sandro Marcos and Romualdez, have allegedly been involved in large-scale corruption but remain unaffected.

He said, “Sobrang excited naman si Marcos na tanggalin ako sa Kongreso, eh si Sandro Marcos at Romualdez na bilyon-bilyon ang ninakaw?”

Meanwhile, Kiko “Congressmeow” Barzaga has been the representative of Cavite’s 4th District since 2025, succeeding his late father, Elpidio Barzaga Jr. He previously served as a Dasmariñas City Councilor (2019–2025) and as an ex officio member of the Cavite Provincial Board (2022–2025) as president of the Philippine Councilors League Cavite Chapter. Barzaga briefly held the post of House Assistant Majority Leader in 2025 but resigned amid political disputes.
