Kaila Estrada to Star as DJ Katherine in Shake, Rattle & Roll
KAILA ESTRADA – The Kapamilya actress is generating buzz after revealing her role in Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, Regal Entertainment’s entry for the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival. Her character is named DJ Katherine, which immediately caught fans’ attention due to its resemblance to the names of celebrity exes Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo (KathNiel).
In the film, “DJ” refers to a disc jockey who mixes and plays music, but the similarity to Daniel’s nickname and Kathryn’s name made fans speculate that the naming was deliberate. Social media users described it as a clever marketing strategy, noting that combining “DJ” and “Katherine” was clearly designed to spark interest and conversation among fans.
Speculation about Kaila and Daniel also resurfaced. Following Daniel and Kathryn’s widely publicized breakup in 2023, rumors circulated that he might be dating Kaila. While there have been public sightings of the two together, both have remained silent about their actual relationship status.
Kaila and Daniel previously collaborated in the action series Incognito, where Daniel won the Outstanding Asian Star award for his performance. Fans were delighted when Daniel mentioned Kaila in his acceptance speech, acknowledging her as part of the cast and production team.
In Evil Origins, Kaila stars alongside her mother, veteran actress Janice de Belen, which adds to viewers’ excitement. Whether they will share major scenes is still unknown, but anticipation is high as the festival approaches.
Meanwhile, Kaila Estrada, whose real name is Michaela Aryanna de Belen Estrada, is an actress and model and the youngest daughter of actors John Estrada and Janice de Belen. She began modeling at 17 and signed with Star Magic in 2021, making her acting debut in Viral Scandal.
She gained recognition for roles in Linlang, Can’t Buy Me Love, Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen, and Incognito, where she played cyber hacker Max Alvaro. She currently stars in What Lies Beneath.
