Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Drug Test Requests on Gov’t Officials
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo a drug test amid the accusations of his sister, Senator Imee Marcos.
The recent accusation against Pres. Bongbong Marcos by his very own sister gathered different reactions from the public. According to Sen. Imee Marcos, PBBM is allegedly using illegal drugs. She claimed that his alleged illegal drug use is supposedly affecting him that leads to his “wrong decisions”.
Sen. Marcos claimed that it is allegedly the reason why she did not come to live with the First Family in Malacañang. She made the same accusation against the wife of the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and their children, particularly Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos.
Malacañang reacted to the accusation of alleged illegal drug use of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos saying that the issue is allegedly long dead. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the President tested negative for drugs in 2021 prior to his presidential run.
Following the claims of Sen. Imee Marcos, Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte reiterated his call for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo a hair follicle drug test. He stressed that the President should prove if he is really clean.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo a drug test to disprove the allegations of illegal drug use. Based on a report on GMA News, she stressed that government officials allegedly cannot refuse if there is a request for them to undergo a drug test.
“Kapag president ka or vice president or any government official for that matter… hindi ka puwedeng humindi kapag sinasabihan ka na magpa-drug test ka,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also asked if she believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly using illegal drugs. Based on the report, the Vice President relayed what she supposedly heard from the people who had been with the First Couple.
“Lahat ng mga nakasama nila sa mga party nila nagsasabi na gumagamit sila ng droga,” she said.
Previously, the Palace clarified that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will not undergo a hair follicle drug test.
