Valentine Rosales Under Fire for False Claims Against Ivan Ronquillo
VALENTINE ROSALES – The infamous social media personality was blamed for the death of Ivan Cezar Ronquillo, the boyfriend of his late friend, Gina Lima. On November 19, 2025, Rosales deleted his Facebook post where he accused Ronquillo of hurting Lima. He removed the post shortly after learning that Ronquillo had taken his own life.
In Ronquillo’s final Facebook post, he shared a screenshot of the angry messages Rosales sent him. In those messages, Rosales accused him of harming Gina, insulted him, and even challenged him to a fight. Rosales later wrote a long Facebook post claiming he believed Ronquillo had a history of hurting women. However, once he learned of Ronquillo’s death, he deleted everything.
Before he died, Ronquillo told his father that he never hurt Lima, and police findings later supported his statement. According to the Quezon City Police District, Lima died from cardiorespiratory distress. Investigators did not find any signs that she was strangled, suffocated, or physically assaulted. Because of this official report, Rosales is now receiving strong criticism for accusing Ronquillo without confirming the facts.

Authorities believe Ronquillo suffered from deep emotional distress and stress due to the heavy online attacks against him, which may have pushed him to end his own life.

This is not the first time Rosales has faced public backlash. He became known in 2021 when he was linked to the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera. Although he was later cleared after autopsy results showed that Dacera died from an aortic aneurysm, he experienced painful online harassment during that time. Many now point out that he should have understood how damaging false accusations can be.

After Ronquillo’s death, Rosales released a new statement saying he was also a victim of misinformation. He said he reacted based on what someone named Kevin Tan told him. Rosales claimed that those who shared his post helped spread the false story and insisted that he did not mean to harm anyone.
