Zaldy Co Could Be Protected, Says Harry Roque
HARRY ROQUE – The former Presidential Spokesperson promised former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co that he would work to get him immunity if Vice President Sara Duterte leads the next administration.
In a Facebook video on Monday, November 17, 2025, Roque said he would support Co in getting immunity in exchange for returning money allegedly taken during President Marcos’ administration and for sharing his testimony about it.
“Ako mismo nangangako, na sa susunod na administrasyon ni Sara Duterte, ako po ay ipaglalaban ko na mabigyan ka ng immunity kapalit ng pag-surrender ng kayamanang nakuha mo sa panahon ni Marcos at kapalit ng iyong testimonya,” Roque said.
Roque also mentioned that he had previously advised Co to repair his relationship with his children, especially his son Elis Co, who had spoken out against him. He suggested that by returning the money, Co could improve his relationship with his children, who reportedly felt upset and disappointed because of suspicions about his past corruption.
“Kapag binalik mo yung mga perang ninakaw mo, baka maayos mo pa yung relasyon mo sa iyong mga anak na kinasusuklaman ka na dahil nga sa pagdududa na ikaw ay naging korap,” he said. “So ayusin mo na rin yung relasyon mo sa mga anak mo sa pamamagitan ng pagbalik ng mga perang ninakaw.”
This statement came shortly after Co spoke publicly about the flood control controversy, in which he directly mentioned President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Co had gained attention before by posting videos and claiming he knew about misused government funds, which drew both criticism and public scrutiny.
