Kris Aquino Speaks Up About Brief Romance with Anjo Yllana
KRIS AQUINO – The Queen of All Media responded to actor Anjo Yllana’s story about a brief romance they had when they were young.
Anjo said in a June 20 interview that they dated for three weeks and claimed that Kris had other boyfriends at the time. He recalled going to her house with flowers from Baguio, only to see long-stemmed roses from another man, which shocked him and led him to end their short relationship and just stay friends.
He also said they later became close friends, and he even gave her advice when her family opposed her relationship with Phillip Salvador. Their friendship cooled, however, when he sided with Joey Marquez in a disagreement involving Kris. Despite this, Anjo recently sent Kris a get-well-soon message as she continues to fight an autoimmune disease. The two also appeared together in films like Ang Siga at ang Sosyal (1992) and Pempe Ni Sara At Pen (1995).
Kris Aquino shared her own side of the story in an Instagram post, offering a different perspective. She said that Anjo never had other boyfriends during their time together. She explained that the moment Anjo remembered involved her former boyfriend dropping her off at her mother’s house, where another man unexpectedly waited.
She said this caused confusion, but it did not mean Anjo was dating anyone else. Kris added that the situation surprised both of them, and Anjo left with words that showed he felt confused and didn’t trust her, even though she was only 21 at the time and Anjo was 23 or 24. She emphasized that the brief relationship was not complicated by other boyfriends and that the story Anjo remembered was just a misunderstanding.
