XYRIEL MANABAT – Actress Xyriel Manabat has bared a deeply personal part of her life, sharing that she once went through a near-death experience that tested both her body and spirit.
Trigger warning: Mention of attempted suicide
Actress Xyriel Manabat has bravely opened up about a difficult chapter in her life, revealing that she once went through a near-death experience linked to her mental health struggles.
Although she chose not to elaborate on the exact details of the incident, she recalled a time when medical staff had to respond urgently to her condition. “So sa hospital, naranasan ko yung tinatawag na yung mga nurse kasi unresponsive na ako,” she said.

The Senior High star also admitted that she had once reached a point of wanting to give up.
Xyriel emphasized the seriousness of mental health issues, noting that recovery takes time and courage. “It’s a long process po. It’s not linear, and at the same time, you really have to acknowledge it, and you really have to ask for help. Kasi that’s the bravest thing you can give for yourself. To ask for help.”
When asked by PEP.ph what she learned from her experiences, Xyriel shared a powerful reminder about kindness and empathy. So it’s free to be kind, it’s free to be nice.”

She also reminded everyone to be a source of comfort to others. Always choose to be kind,” she stressed.
Xyriel currently stars as Mia, the sister of Julia (played by Charlie Dizon), in the horror film Near Death, which also features veteran actress Lotlot de Leon. The actress shared her story during the film’s red-carpet premiere on October 19 at SM North The Block.
