Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Still in The Hague, Netherlands
HARRY ROQUE – Duterte’s former Spokesman asked why the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is allegedly seemingly not running after Zaldy Co unlike to him.
Resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co has yet to return to the Philippines amid the flood control allegations against him. An ex-marine who claimed that he is a former staff of Co testified during a Senate flood probe that he was allegedly part of the team that delivered suitcases filled with millions of money to the residence of Co and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Co was already in the United States for his medical treatment when controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya claimed that he allegedly received “kickback” from flood control projects. The House of Representatives cancelled his Travel Clearance and House Speaker Bojie Dy ordered him to return to the country but he did not follow the call.
Instead of returning to the Philippines, Co resigned from being the representative of Ako Bicol Partylist. He claimed that he is already “apprehensive” over his safety if he returns to the country.
Amid the allegations of flood control corruption against Zaldy Co, the Representative of Ako Bicol Partylist called his resignation “a sacrifice”. The Department of Justice previously claimed that they will seek a “Blue Notice” for Co from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
Recently, amid the flood control issue in the Philippines, Harry Roque asked why the DFA allegedly keeps on running after him but they are supposedly not exerting efforts to bring Zaldy Co home. The former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is faced with a pending arrest warrant issued by a Philippine court.
However, due to Harry Roque being an asylum seeker in The Hague, Netherlands, the Philippines authorities cannot easily serve the arrest warrant against him and bring him back to the country. Duterte’s former Spox is being questioned over his alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country.
Roque previously claimed that he will only return to the Philippines on the first day after the presidential term of Pres. Bongbong Marcos ends. According to him, he cannot forgive Marcos Jr. for the distance between him and his family now.
Previously, amid the flood control issue in the country now, Harry Roque called on Marcos Jr. to resign from the presidency. He told the President to give his position to someone who has the right mindset. He also called on the Filipinos for “People Power” to remove the Chief Executive from his position.
